Her left shoulder now bears three clawmarked scars which she received in a recent battle. click for pic PERSONALITY MOTHERLY, HUMBLE, BRAVE, TERRITORIAL, CONFLICTED MOTHERLY Ashfoot has already given birth to one small litter of kits, and though each passed on quickly to StarClan, her motherly instincts remain intact. She likes to help care for the queens and kits in the nursery, even though it brings back some sad memories for her. She can't turn her maternal instincts off, and she finds herself making decisions from a mother's perspective in and outside of WindClan. She always worries about what is best for the kits of the forest (not just the kits of WindClan), and Brokenstar's decision to make young kits into apprentices sickens her. Because of this nurturing side, she is a good cat to come to with problems, as she loves feeling as if she is taking care of someone. HUMBLE Although Ashfoot is a talented fighter and hunter, she does not see herself this way. She believes she is an average cat at best, doing only what her leader asks of her. Unlike many warriors of the forest, she has no ambitions to be appointed deputy or gain leadership. She does not even like to be made a mentor, because she believes there are better cats for the job. She hates attention being called to herself or her skills. In fact, she prefers to work behind the scenes, out of the spotlight. BRAVE The she-cat has developed a sense of bravery and strength throughout her life because of the hardships she has faced. She has dealt with the death of her kits, faced the loss of her territory, and has seen blood and gore in battle. She is sensitive enough that this affects her, but she faces each new day with courage and fortitude, knowing that StarClan guides her paws. She does not flinch in the face of 'world war' or cower in fear of death. TERRITORIAL While there are many instances when Ashfoot is lenient about the warrior code and interactions between clans, the one thing guaranteed to set her off is another clan posing a threat to WindClan's territory. She has already been forced off her beloved moors once, and she is not about to let that happen again. She is fierce about border patrols and guards the territory strictly. She assumes that any cat straying near WindClan's territory is a threat and will react (or, often, overreact) accordingly. CONFLICTED Ashfoot is a smart cat who can make her own decisions and think independently of the clan, however she must always remain loyal to her leaders' decisions. This sometimes leaves her feeling conflicted when her own intuitions counteract the orders of her superiors, and she must face a difficult decision. Who should honor first? The persuasion of her gut or the leader of her clan? It is never an easy choice to make, and her answer typically depends on the situation. HISTORY Birth 34 moons ago, Sandstripe of WindClan gave birth to a small litter of kits fathered by a very senior warrior named Ravenstorm. There were only two kits born, a she-kit named Ashkit and a tom named Littlekit. Littlekit was small and weak and soon died. In the Nursery Ashkit was spoiled because she was an only child. Her parents doted on her and she played more with them than with the other kits. She missed out on many of the games kits like to play and became very mature at a young age. Life as an Apprentice Ashpaw was apprenticed to Wrenheart at exactly six moons. She idolized the energetic young warrior. Wrenheart was one of the newest warriors' in the clan. Ashpaw was her first apprentice, and there was only a nine or ten moon difference between the two females. The two of them learned together: Wrenheart learned how to be a mentor, and Ashpaw learned how to be an apprentice. The training sessions were tough, but with such a positive and encouraging mentor, Ashpaw always enjoyed them. As an apprentice, she soon began falling for a certain older warrior. (It is hinted that her mate is Deadfoot in the books, but this is not confirmed, so I am leaving his name out.) Her skills as a warrior grew when she took up the practice of seeing him for extra training sessions, which was merely an excuse to spend time with him. However, the extra sessions paid off, and she soon became known as Ashfoot. Warrior Life, Part I Ashfoot's first attempt at the warrior lifestyle did not last long. She liked the responsibility and the freedom of being a full warrior rather than just an apprentice, but her covert relationship with one of the clan's most respected toms consumed a lot of her time and distracted her from her duties. When a large litter of kits reached six moons, Ashfoot was given her first apprentice. Like Wrenheart, she was young and eager. However, her role as a mentor quickly ended when she discovered that she was expecting kits and retired to the nursery. Motherhood Ashfoot gave birth to one stillborn kit and one living tom, a little gray thing she named Eaglekit. She loved being a queen and enjoyed being in WindClan's nursery, but ShadowClan soon came to take that privelege away. They kicked WindClan off their territory, and Ashfoot was forced to roam the outerlands with young Eaglekit. During exile, Ashfoot's father died. He contracted some illness that the medicine cat did not have sufficient herbs to cure, and he did not last long. After this incident, Ashfoot became even more worried about the safety of her beloved kit. She often voiced this concern to Tallstar, but was always hushed, and she learned to worry in silence. Her worries soon came true, however, and Eaglekit contracted greencough and died. Ashfoot was once again a warrior. Warrior Life, Part II When WindClan returned from exile, she fought in the four-way battle at the Gorge, where received the claw marks that now scar her shoulder. In that battle, the same ShadowClan warrior that scarred her killed her mother, and now Ashfoot feels even more passionate about fighting Brokenstar and his followers. She supported WindClan's decision to join ThunderClan and fight against ShadowClan. She later fought in the battle with ShadowClan over the tunnels and when WindClan lost, she was infuriated. She now patrols those borders very carefully. OTHER INFORMATON Just a question. She is Crowfeather's mom but her mate, while probably Deadfoot, is unconfirmed. If no one decides to RP Deadfoot, could she still give birth to Crowkit with some other tom? RP SAMPLE The sleek gray warrior lay underneath the stars. Her body was stretched out on the open ground of WindClan's camp, and while her clanmates slept beside her, her mind was too awake to join them. Her large pupils stared up at the Silverpelt, and she thought of her family resting up there. All of her family. She hoped that Eaglekit was happy up there and playing with Sandstripe and Ravenstorm, his grandparents. Better for him to be up there than down here, in this warring world. The ambition that the forest held was astounding... How had the clans gotten like this? This is too much, Ashfoot thought as she rose to her paws, although she was not sure if she was talking about the insomnia or the war. Either way, she had had enough. The rest of the clan was sleeping, but she would at least make herself useful. She walked quietly to the camp's entrance, nodded at a newly-made warrior keeping his vigil, and exited her quiet home. It was time to check on her latest obsession. She was convinced that ShadowClan was sneaking onto WindClan through the tunnels, and she was determined to prove or prevent it. What if ShadowClan crept onto WindClan territory while their warriors were sleeping? The ShadowClanners were known for their ability to hunt at night, after all. It was a disturbing thought, and now Ashfoot's steps quickened as she headed toward the tunnels, her tail stuck straight up. "Those mangy rat-chasers need to keep off our land," she hissed, wishing that her warning could actually be heard. ETCETERA OTHER CATS, |
