Sashiya had headed out further from the barn. Plenty of small twoleggers had been seen heading down there, so she'd decided it was a good time to clear out to the forest for a few days. Young twoleggers never seemed to understand that she was to be left alone, no matter how many times she clawed them when they managed to catch her sleeping.
Trotting along the plains she paused for a moment to just enjoy the weather. It was cloudy overhead with a breeze going. It ruffled her fur, Sashiya swishing her tail as it went over her. When it passed she straightened out again a low purr breaking free for a moment before she resumed her trip. She came near the smell of other cats and stopped.
She didn't come this way often. It made sense that there would be cats here. It wasn't her usual roaming grounds, she'd just felt curious and decided to explore further out. There were so many though! They weren't young either, full grown toms mixing along here. Sniffing it cautiously she took a couple steps back. No need to get too close.

The gray and white tom struggled not to sprint is way over and back the border that separated clan's from rouges. He hated to have to go out of the claimed areas to search for what he needed, but there was no other option and his clan desperately needed the herbs he was after.
Walking briskly in the direction of the unmistakable red barn, Runningnose glanced around anxiously as if half expecting a patrol of Windclan warriors to come out and ambush him. The moorland clan was not fond of Shadowclan, and for good reason, too. But would they attack a medicine cat? Honestly, Runningnose didn't know what to think. Everything had been so wrong since the war began that not even the neutral care-givers were safe.
Still, he had to gather up his courage and do what needed to be done. Shadowclan was constantly in desperate need of golden rod and thyme. Comfrey and poppy seeds were well used in Shadowclan for their abundance, but those other herbs worked far better and could be used over a longer period of time. The only problem? They grew in in drier and sunny places, like the moorland.
Stopping to sniff periodically at different plants, he eventually found himself well past the barn and cursed silently for not finding anything he was looking for. If anything, he needed that thyme! The kit-warriors always came back stricken and shaky, if not bleeding from several wounds. They needed to have something to soothe them, and thyme did the trick. But he couldn't find anything so far...maybe there was some growing along the tall growth along the barn?...
A gust of wind caused him to root his claws into the ground, shivering even though the temperature was fair. The openness of the sky overhead and no shadows to dive into made the older tom unsettled. But then came the scent of an unfamiliar cat...a loner.
Turning to look at the direction it came from, Runningnose was surprised to see a dark tabby she-cat backing away. She must have seen him...scented him even. Would she recognize him as a clan cat? She didn't seem hostile like other loners, just wary. Runningnose sniffed and waved his tail high in greeting to the other cat. No need to be scared of a medicine cat now, was there?

Sashiya paused crouching down slightly. She breathed in the scent of the other cat trying to find out about him. He was older than her. That might have been relaxing had he not still been young enough to have his experience far outweigh anything she might bring to a fight. Tail twitching restlessly she wondered what to do. Running was a safe option. Standing and fighting was what she wanted to do, defend what she considered her land. He was part of a group of cats though. That wouldn't be safe. He wasn't presenting a threat either. So she stayed where she was a low rumble slipping from her in warning. She didn't back off, but she didn't attack either. This was as close to neutral as she got.
