Goldenflower She-cat || 79 Moons || Warrior--~-----~-- Goldenflower let her self yawn wide revealing a sweet pink tongue behind pearl-colored fangs of steal. How long since she had used those fangs? How long since she had gone on patrol? Too long! Being cooped up in the nursery for the past few moons had taken a big toll on her but she wouldn't have traded it for anything. Now that she was fully rested for the first time not being woken by bouncing balls of fur she was eager to do something more thrilling! But first... she needed to find out how her babies were cooping with their first night alone. Well... not alone. They had one another and their big brother even, so she hoped they weren't too put out. Of course they weren't! They were brave Tigerstar kits. Powerful and great and... oh she couldn't convince herself! she was still their mother and she still felt the need to be nosy and check on them. Maybe she would get to take her kits on their first patrol! How exciting was that!
Poking her head into the apprentice den Goldenflower looked for any of her three kits. She was obviously here to check on the new apprentices but she was more than happy to check on her first kit: Swiftpaw too. "Bramblek- no..." She corrected her self and tried again, "Bramblepaw? Tawnypaw? Swiftpaw?" She called softly. She didn't see either her tortoise she-kit or her black and white first born. Oh! But there was Bramblepaw! Just seeing his chocolate brown fur made her purr and she waited for him to respond.

BRAMBLEPAW
Don’t move, the brown tabby thought as he watched his sister freeze in fear. The snake slithered across the floor like an emerald thread as it whisked through the pale grass. As the snake’s petite salmon hued tongue flickered in and out of its cupped mouth he nearly wanted to yowl in anger, but with the snake so close to his sister he didn’t want to cause her harm at his own anger. They shouldn’t have even been out in the open at the moment what was wrong with him? Now they were both facing a dangerous snake neither knew how to handle. Not to mention his sister was mortified with fear, as she trembled he did so in his own furry paws. His eyes shifted from the silky reptile to the green eyes of his sister as she let out a small whine for help. It was only then that the snake transformed right before his eyes into a massive black warrior, he couldn’t help but blink in disbelief. What type of darkness was this?
It was only then that the brown tabby realized in horror as the mouth of the black warrior sunk into the neck of his sisters that it he wasn’t black. But brown, a deep drab colored with chocolate stripes just like his father. “NO!” He yowled in anger as he lunged for the tom only to find himself staring in the same eyes that he hated seeing. It wasn’t his father, no it was far worse it was, himself. “Why not just lose control? It’s better on this side of the fence ask your father.” The monster of his reflection hissed back before sinking into the ground. His heart pounding he let out a wail of defeat only to find moments later he wasn’t in the forest clearing like he had been but in his makeshift nest.
After what seemed like only minutes, his mother, Goldenflower soft voice tickled at his ears. Her voice carried into the apprentices' den. It was welcoming, but slightly stern; a certain motherliness definitely pierced her tone. The tom almost rolled his eyes, but he thought better of it. Picking himself up, Bramble pulled himself into a stretch; his body protested and ached from his dream. "Mom, I’m coming." A tired voice answered the she-cat. The tom shook his body and gave his chest a few licks for good measure. His head appeared out of the den before the rest of his massive body did. His eyes searched her as he spat out a question. "What’s wrong, Tawnypaw is okay, yes?" he asked halfheartedly, attempting to make a pleasant conversation after a not-so-pleasant awakening. In truth, his paws may have been trembling ever-so-slightly with remembrance pawing at his subconscious mind.

Goldenflower She-cat || 79 Moons || Warrior--~-----~-- Goldenflower blinked slowly, "That's a silly question, of course she's ok." She meowed softly licking her kit's ear before rubbing her check against his affectionately, "How was your first night all alone sweet-kit?" She asked pleasently, her golden eyes shone with interest and a mother's obvious worry. Before long the lithe she-cat was examining her big boy from ear to tail tip searching for any signs out of order.
He had already asked an odd question this morning and she was fearing for him. It was just a mother's intuition, she felt something was wrong but she refrained from prying too much. He was a big boy and she couldn't be pestering him forever. Of course if he wanted to talk she would always be there... always.

BRAMBLEPAW
Bramblepaw flinched slightly as she licked his ear and pressed her face against his. He was use to affection such as this but he felt unworthy of it at the moment. Then again he couldn't express that to her and he her running about worriedly so he kept to himself once again. When she asked about his first night he almost shivered again in spite of his dream. He didn't wish to speak of that but those aureate eyes glowed at him almost leaving him feeling as if he had no choice but to tell his mother. Glancing away quickly he swallowed hard, he conjured up a reassuring smile as he spoke. "It was fine, would be better if some of those cats I sleep with didn't mumble in their sleep but I'll get used to it eventually."
His eyes glanced quickly about the camp as he searched for his sister but found no sign of her. Well that was just like Tawnypaw she was always trying to prove herself. He wanted to sigh at that thought but knew better with his mother standing before him. He missed his sister and his mother when they were curled up together, united. But knowing he wasn't allowed to express such he kept quiet, not to mention his father wouldn't approve of that kind of talk. Then again what did his father approve of?
Hardly anything as he never so much as gave his kits a second glance half the time, at first this had mentally affected him but now it was a daily basis. It was odd if his father ever nodded at him or spoke briefly out of leader duty, yet that was rare so he didn't have to worry. Yet he did have to worry about how it was impacting Tawnypaw, he knew she took badly to neglect than he did possibly because she was a she-cat but he wouldn't become a sexist on that. He glanced at his mother again, before he began to voice his question. "What's wrong with us that our father doesn't notice us? Patchpelt still visit's Swiftpaw but our father acts as if we don't mean anything."
He was truly upset but the question was more for his sister purposes rather than his. He liked that his father ignored them as he wouldn't have to fill those giant paws of his but he knew it bothered Tawnypaw therefore it bothered him. His mother had always said they were joined at the hip and connected in every way; of course he found it as a joke but now he realized she might be right. If all else failed and Goldenflower disappeared for whatever reason Bramblepaw had worn to himself he would protect and nurture his sister to the best of his ability without doubt. Besides these two she-cats were the only ones he had a sweet spot for. .

Goldenflower She-cat || 79 Moons || Warrior--~-----~-- Goldenflower looked at her son, concern glittering in her eyes, he never flinched away from her affections before. She was almost heart broken, but she forced herself to remember that he wasn't a kit anymore. He was still a young cat but he was an apprentice. He was going to learn what it meant to take care of himself, what it meant to be a warrior. Even Goldenflower had a rebellious phase in her life. Why when she was just an apprentice she would have done anything to stay away from her mother, to life free and bound across the moorlands like the great warrior she already was! Who needed a warrior name to be a great warrior? Well... at least Goldenflower knew now how important her training was and how much she should have relished being a kit. Once you grew up there was no more being a kit, it was all work-work-work. Well, ok that wasn't true either, but it was more fun to be an apprentice than apprentices seemed to realize. When Bramblepaw left the apprentice den he would miss it. Just like he was missing the nursery. So many kits died to leave the nursery then after their first night alone begged to sleep with their family again. It was always better when the kits had siblings they could stick together with. Swiftpaw didn't have any siblings in his litter, and poor Bramblepaw got stuck with one of those rambunctious sisters that didn't want to be all "family love".
"Well, when you graduate to being a warrior you can come and sleep by me, I don't mumble in my sleep." She promised him, her voice as warm and honey-toned as the color of her fur. She just loved her kits, even though she was enjoying getting a full night's sleep she was already considering names for her next litter. The nursery was just better. Of course, she still wanted that break first. Maybe once Swiftpaw became a warrior, or even when Bramblepaw and Tawnypaw became warriors. By then she'd have had enough of warrior duties anyway... right?
Goldenflower's joyous expression turned to horror at her son's next question, "Oh! Bramblepaw, there's nothing wrong with you! You're the strongest kits in the clan, you're both perfect." She meowed trying to sound soothing, she would have to talk to Tigerstar about seeing his kits more often! "Patchpelt is an elder now, he doesn't have anything that he has to do so he's free to go and visit who ever he pleases whenever he pleases. Your father's the leader now Bramblepaw, it's not that he doesn't love you, he's just busy" She said hoping that was a reasonable explanation and assumption. Though her son had a point... Tigerstar had been too busy for his family, not that she really expected anything else. But he used to come to her, at least occasionally, for stress relief if nothing else. How long had it been since she saw the gentle side of that monstrous tom? Goldenflower couldn't help but feel almost a sense of jealousy towards that rouge-leader: Scourge. There was no way a tom cat like that could provide Tigerstar with all he needed... right? The golden tabby tried to push away her fears, for her kit's sake.

BRAMBLEPAW
Bramblepaw traced is paw in a circular motion on the smooth tan earth, letting out a sigh he nodded in agreement. He could always sleep next to her in the warrior's den but then the others would tease him for being so close to his mother. He did have to grow up and be a tom eventually. Have to find his own way and he didn't even want to think what would happen if his father saw him all curled up under his mother as if he was a kit. He shivered at the thoughts of those jaws snapping angry words at him. He had witness his father snapping orders at a few warriors before when they disobeyed or just because, it was frightening and he seemed so ruthless that if it came to his own blood he wouldn't think twice, just like he did so with every other cat. The small brown tabby had even taken notice that his father wasn't with his mother like the other warriors use to tell tales about, all he was focused on was work of the clan. Yet Bramblepaw knew he couldn't just take off his duty to the clan to be with his family, besides once you became a part of the clan and especially the leader they were you family and you can't treat all your family members differently or there would be problems. He let out a sigh looking up at his mother; well he'd continue on with his front of not caring till his mother would worry a little less. Perhaps talking to Tawnypaw would make him feel better as his mother wasn't being so helpful at the moment.
"If we are perfect than he'd notice us mom, we aren't perfect we are just furballs lucky enough to be able to actually call him kin. Besides he won't even look at me for long and I look just like HIM." As she commented on his Patchpelt statement he understood what she meant and knew she would respond like that. But he had no doubt in his mind that Patchpelt would see his kit every moon or so just to check in because he well loved his son. Whereas Tigerstar seemed to love neither his son nor his daughter and at the moment didn't even seem to be wanted to be bothered with his mate. This brought a growl to his throat, no one was to disregard his mother like that, not after all the things he's heard she had done for that tom he was identical to. That was perhaps why his mother kept him so close, he looked just like his father and considering the tom was always away it only made sense to keep the mini him around for comfort. This led to tom to wonder if his mother really loved him for him or becuase he looked like her mate who neglected her countlessly.
"And everyone wants me to be like him but if I do follow his footsteps and become all great and mighty the one thing I WON'T do is neglect my family for leadership. You and Tawnypaw will always come first, yet to him Tawnypaw and I always come last...even you." He spat out angrily his hackles had risen in anger as his fur stood on end making him look ridiculous. This would be consider the first time to anyone passing by the Bramblepaw had shown emotions so vividly, this passive character had become so swelled up with anger that it finally busted. And it made Bramblepaw feel guilty immediately after he spat out the words. He hadn't meant to sound off his emotions so violently at his mother, he was just aggravated with his father and in truth he didn't want to be. The tom longed for his father to take some interest in him so he could aid him in becoming a great warrior just like his great leader, and father. Yet with all the neglect being tossed into the air Bramblepaw was only doubting his abilities more and realizing that maybe trying to be like his father would be a waste of time. Besides if your own father didn't seem to believe you could be like him why even try to achieve the greatness he did? Bramblepaw settled down on his haunches sighing heavily as he licked his fur attempting to settle his nerves also not daring to make eye contact with his mother. He had been disrespect and he didn't know what was going to happen next.

Goldenflower She-cat || 79 Moons || Warrior--~-----~-- Goldenflower wanted so desperately to sooth her kit, she wanted to scoop him up and take him back to the nursery where she could protect him all the time, but he was too old for that and no cat in the clan would respect him then. She knew he was brave, she knew he could be more than any other cat. In fact when she looked at Bramblepaw she could see a kinder version of his father. Strong and ambitious like his father but gentle and loving like she was. There was no better combination of cat than that in her mind. The perfect warrior was violent and rough when he needed to be but soft and understanding when the scenario called for it. Bramblepaw had this potential.
"You are perfect." Goldenflower meowed, her voice loving, "You're not your father." She meowed taking a subtle stab at her mate for being so cold towards his own kits and towards her, "You're as tough as your father, you will be a very strong warrior, but you're sweet like me. You care about your clan and your family. Your father does too but he doesn't understand the importance of sometimes being a little more gentle." She meowed and touched her dark nose to her kit's head, she knew he was fretting, she knew he was nervous and she wished she could just tell him the whole truth. She wanted to be able to say with confidence that their father loved them, that their father was only just too busy... But in all reality the golden she-cat wasn't even sure that Tigerstar loved her, not now, not ever. She was just a conveniently placed pawn.
Goldenflower smiled and a warm purr rose in her chest as her defiant young tom took a powerful stand, "Many leaders have had to go against their families for the greater good of their clan, but no leader should ever forget his family." She agreed, "If you do follow in your father's paw-steps I know you will be a great leader." She meowed soothingly and began licking her son's back to smooth his fur, "That said there's no reason to be so hostile my little love, I am sure that after this war non-sense is all over your father will prove to you that he loves you. Besides, even if he is too busy for us right now we will always have one another, your sister too." Goldenflower promised, it made her heart ache that her son felt so strongly about his father's neglect. It was a rare day that Goldenflower ever spoke back against a leader, and an even rarer day what she spoke back against Tigerstar but it was time that she did. He could ignore her all he wanted, she was happy to just have two little pieces of him but to ignore his kits and to make them feel this way? It was unacceptable! She would not have her kits feel so disowned. She would go and speak with their father as soon as she could. Even if he had to force himself to pay them some attention he bloody well better do it or so starclan help her! The sleek golden tabby tried to hide this anger with her mate from her son, trying her hardest to keep the tip of her tail from twitching.

BRAMBLEPAW
Bramblepaw ears twitched in amusement, he wasn't his father and he was glad someone realized it. But he wished everyone else did, the again you can't always get what you want. As she began to describe his traits he nodded in agreement, he was like her and he did like that part of him. He liked the parts he collected from both of his parents but he wished his father would be a little gentler. He wondered if his father really loved his mother and was one of those cats who didn't know how to express it correctly. He couldn't tell and he decided not to go into that with his mother, as she purred loudly before licking his back he pressed into her warmth. He felt safe here with his mother, she was always good at comforting him and easing his nerves when they rallied higher than he expected. It was why he was so close to her aside from the obvious fact, he closed his eyes listen to her words carefully.
"...your father will prove to you that he loves you..." That was if he loved him, and he wasn't so certain of that but maybe one day he would be. Exhaling deeply he pulled from his mother too look up at her carefully. Watching her as she stopped talking her face seemed to be a battle not to show whatever emotion she felt. He hoped she wasn't going to cry he'd certainly hate that especially if it was because of him. Although he had never seen his mother cry he figured the site was pretty horrible and would not only break his heart but his sisters. Quickly to distract her from the topic he changed it. "Its fine I suppose and if he loses you he'll be one mouse-brained tom. Have you eaten anything yet?"
He said as he eyed the fresh-kill pile, it was still morning and he was certain she hadn't eaten as he didn't either. Perhaps they could share a short meal before he had to disappear to his duties. Arggh, those duties, he hated having to preform them but knew they only made him better as an upcoming warrior. Besides if he wasn't out to impress his father he was out to impress his mother. He gave her a lick on the forearm as he purred softly as he waited for her reply hoping she would change emotions soon.

Goldenflower She-cat || 79 Moons || Warrior--~-----~-- The pretty golden tabby purred softly as her son nuzzled close to her, there, that was more like him. She was glad she could ease his frustrations, even if it was only by a tiny bit. Her anger at Tigerstar hadn't changed but she managed to push it aside for now. She wanted to spend time with Bramblepaw, and she wasn't going to cut that time short just to go and give that big lug of brown fur that they all called leader a piece of her mind.
"Oh. No I haven't." She said, "Actually that reminds me why I came to get you actually. I wanted to have breakfast with you then invite you to come out on a little patrol with me, what do you say?" she meowed cheering up instantly and getting to her paws. She walked out the entrance to the apprentice den and quickly flicked her tail to tell Bramblepaw she wanted him to follow.

BRAMBLEPAW
Bramblepaw smiled faintly at the vibrating sound of her own purr erupting, whether others found him to close to his mother or not he did enjoy close moments such as this. His ears twitched in response to suggestion to patrol with him, I suppose I can yet what would my mentor say? Then again his mother was a senior warrior and could possibly always rule over his mentor's say not to mention he would be doing something productive. He nodded lightly at his mother before he voiced his agreement, "That sound pleasant enough."
His body advanced towards the fresh kill pile following after his mother. Once he reached the pile ignoring glances from younger warriors he cupped his mouth around a plum vole. His mouth began to water at the smell of it, clearly the vole had just been sent to its end which was luck sent by Starclan to him. Trotting over to his mother he dropped the vole in front of her before he nudged the limp body towards her. Knowing she should eat first especially considering she was female. As he lowered himself his haunches he glanced briefly around the camp noticing a couple of Bloodclan warriors were playing. He sneered in disgust that was one thing he didn't agree with, the Bloodclan warriors just the name of their clan sent signs of danger tickling down his spine. "Mother, what do you think of this...Bloodclan?"

Goldenflower She-cat || 79 Moons || Warrior--~-----~-- "It's settled then, we'll get some breakfast and I'll take you outside of camp for a little walk around. If your mentor has any complaints we can always tell them that it's not against the rules, apprentices are aloud to leave camp on their own whenever they chose." Goldenflower paused, "Unless they have prior chores that they have to do of course." She purred in amusement. She was pretty sure Bramblepaw was not the type to just go running off and abandon his duties for a little fun thrill, but his sister and half-brother were for sure! How many times had those two gotten themselves into mischief? What was wrong with her genes that all her kits had to be rebellious? She'd blame it on Tigerstar but like she said, Swiftpaw was like that too.
Goldenflower smiled as she settled herself down on a patially shaded spot just next to the freshkill pile. She was so proud at how respectful her son was. If only her other two kits could learn that trait! Of course if they did they wouldn't be themselves anymore and as much as they drove her crazy she still loved them and couldn't wait to see what kind of warriors they would become.
As Bramblepaw dropped the vole infront of her she dipped her head in thanks before taking the first bite and flicking her tail as a welcome for him to join her.
Goldenflower too had noticed the Bloodclanners playing and making unnecessary noise which made her flick her ears backwards in irritation. They weren't even a clan so, if they were they wouldn't be sharing another clan's territory, and as such they really had no right calling themselves a clan. They were nothing but a bunch of thrown together rouges that all followed a runt-of-a-leader who only got respect because he talked big. "Well, I do believe your father's idea of Tigerclan will bring less starvation, less fighting and strife to the forest, though I'm a little torn since there had always been four clans. Either way, it could be a change for the better but I don't see where Bloodclan fits into all this. If we're going for peace shouldn't we come together peacefully? Without war? What could rouges really understand about unity?" She paused and looked at her kit not wanting to worry him, "Of course they could prove me wrong." She added hopefully, half trying to convince herself.

BRAMBLEPAW
Bramblepaw shook his head as she questioned of his chores, he didn't have any yet. Besides Tawnypaw had been put on that duty from past events where she hadn't been doing what she should. The tabby frowned at the thought; his sister was always into something she had no business with. If only our mother knew the mess she got into. He shook his head slightly laughing at the thought of his trouble making sister. His mind was only withdrawn from further thoughts when he heard the scrapping sound of a body against the earth. Amber eyes glanced downwards to find the vole he had offered his mother was placed close to his paws in an offering for him to take a bite.
His mother had sunk her jaws into the chest of the dead creature, leaving a gash in the vole the size of a kitten's body. The tender salmon colored flesh showed beckoning him to nourish his body with its essence. His mouth salivated at the thought of his tasting the flesh which was always salty and tangy, but perhaps it could hold a hint of sweetness if he was lucky. His body flexed preparing to lower him to the body, yet his mind was forced from the thoughts of hunger to his mother's lengthy response to his question prior. Less starvation, less fighting and strife? He highly doubted that and it caused his brows to furrow in disagreement. Bramblepaw didn't entirely agree with that being the reason why his father was making Tigerclan but he didn't feel entitled to voice that opinion. Besides it seemed opposing opinion seemed to get many cats killed in the times he was born in therefore he caught on quickly to just keep his opinion rambling to each other in his mind.
But his mother did have a point, they should be joining together in peace and well if not many favored the idea it shouldn't have been enforced. Not to mention bring in Bloodclan only made it worse, that clan of bloodthirsty rouges didn't know anything about unity or family, and they knew nothing about empathy or loyalty. They just knew the thirst to kill and to please all but themselves. Sure, they could get in line when fear was placed into their hearts by an upper power but that was only then that they could bind to "unity" otherwise they weren't really a clan. They were just associates that had band together out of the same fear, death. When she suggested the rouges proving her wrong he frowns in doubt. They couldn't even prove themselves wrong if they wanted too. If you place a mouse in a field of cheese the mouse isn't going to not attempt to collect all the cheese it could, and that was exactly how it was with the blood clanners. If you place them on a battle field they will not stop to kill every living things that isn't familiar or to be on their side and that was what Bramblepaw feared. He didn’t' want the other clans to die off but it seemed it didn't matter anyone because you either joined Tigerclan or died.
This caused Bramblepaw to wonder if he would be in charge of Tigerclan or would he be forced to make his own clan to rule besides his father? So many thoughts spun in the tom cats head and he didn't have enough time to process them and evaluate them clearly. Turning his attention back to the vole, his eyes shifted over it carefully as if expecting it to have another bite mark. Lowering his head to the body, his jaws enclosed over the belly of the prey and swallowing it whole without chewing. "I think that this idea of Tigerclan won't end well and not just due to Bloodclan...but they will be the main problem. I just hope neither you nor Tawnypaw get hurt in this mouse-brained warfare." His voice was monotone and held a depth of seriousness almost mimicking the booming bass of his fathers. Bramblepaw knew he was a protector by nature and but what his father was, was something entirely different.

Goldenflower She-cat || 79 Moons || Warrior--~-----~-- Goldenflower watched her kit, she was worried about him but she didn't want to point out her concern because if she did then the concequences could be even greater. No sometimes kits needed to work things out on their own, or at least be ready to seek help in their own time, not pushed into talking before they were ready. Before she could dwell on that fact much longer the rolling Bloodclanners toppled towards the golden tabby. She flattened her ears in irritation and let out a shrill warning hiss in their direction. When their fur bristled in response she wasn't hesitant about boxing the closest one's ear with sheathed claws. Before her claws came out he was smart enough to retreat with his little troop following close behind.
"This is the problem with rouges." She said, though she was more thinking out loud than actually talking directly to Bramblepaw, "They weren't raised right and now they're just rude mouse-brains." She said firmly, the tip of her tail twitching, "If only they had good warrior parents and mentors to teach them their manners." she almost chuckled then her next comment was actually directed to her kit, "That's what they should do, every Bloodclanner coming in should need to learn from a mentor on how to behave."
She pressed her nose against the brown tabby's head, "Oh sweet heart, your mama's tougher than she looks, I promise. So is Tawnypaw, she may be small, but she's got spirit." Goldenflower meowed speaking fondly of her only daughter. Though in the back of her mind the warrior couldn't helo but worry for her family and even for her friends...
