FEATHERPAW
[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=valign,top] 10 MOONS FEMALE RIVERCLAN MEDICINE CAT APPRENTICE | [atrb=style, width: 296px; padding: 5px; background-color: e3e3e3; border-top: 4px solid #000000;] GENERAL INFORMATION NAME, BRIEF DESCRIPTION, a slender silver gray tabby with a plumy tail FAMILY,Crookedstar - Grandfather(deceased) Graystripe - Father Silverstream - Mother(deceased) Mosspelt - Adoptive Mother Stormpaw - Brother APPEARANCE PERSONALITY Caring - Selfless - Courageous - Devoted - Deep Thinking - Sensitive Featherpaw is an outstanding example of caring and kind. Her concern for others is almost overwhelming, the things she would do for others is virtually limitless, and a deep set compassion inspired by her father drives her to display that quality to all that she meets, including cat's of other clans. There is no way she would let a cat suffer or be despondent, it's against her nature to inflict pain or sorrow upon someone even if they rightly deserve it. That being said, she will not hesitate to let someone know they are doing wrong or on a way-ward course. In a casual conversation, she's can be very straight forward - though not rude - and tells things like they are without the added sugar. She believes it's best to get news out first and then deliver the comfort instead of beating around the bush. But don't think little Featherpaw is just going to say whatever is on her mind that second and very possibly offend you. No, she is a thinker this one and really has a tendency to over think some things. What would be the best way to tell a cat they lost a friend, without added grief? Which herb combo would give the cat comfort yet still have them be able to let her or Mudfur know they were in pain? Those are some of the things she tends to wonder on the topic of her duties. When having little else to do, her mind wanders into things in the future, of the present, and what could have been, causing her to become easily distracted. Featherpaw is a sensitive she-cat and it wouldn't take a lot to get on her nerves and have her riled up and ready to answer a cat back with claws. But she isn't just sensitive in the negative sense. Featherpaw is in tune to others emotions and finds them contagious, in a sense. If someone is on the verge of tears, she's ready to cry with them; If someone is jubilant and hyper, she's bouncing off the walls with joy. This helps to identify herself with her clan-mates/patients, able to get to their level and understand them better. Though Featherpaw gave up the rest of her warrior training for medicine cat life, she is completely devoted to her studies and work and has a mind like a sponge. Everything Mudfur explains to her, she retains and it doesn't take more than a couple times of telling her over again before she gets the hang of things and knows her duties like the back of her paw. Whatever her mentor asks of her, she's willing to do at the drop of pin and makes sure to do it to the best of her ability. Featherpaw strives to live a life of self-sacrifice, using the deep love for her clan-mates to move her to finish her duties with courage and kindness. HISTORY Before Kit-hood |
A forbidden romance began to blossom between the two. Despite the war going on between clans, despite being on opposite sides of that war, Silverstream and Graystripe found a way to kindle their love while pushing out the hatred of the battles around them. With every secret meeting, every simple glance from afar, every brief brushing of pelts, each gave the other a piece of their heart until they had them whole in their paws.
Though her father knew of her meeting with the Thunderclan warrior and eventually confronted her, she had told her father to let her choose her own destiny...and so she did. Ignoring the warnings of her friend, Mistyfoot, she continued to see the cat she loved until finally her fate was sealed.
Imagine the mixture of alarm and joy when Silverstream found out she was carrying Graystripe's kits. She didn't try to hide who the father was, but she didn't announce it to the world either. Once she had the chance, she told Graystripe of her condition and the two rejoiced.
But all that was cut short when Silverstream went to meet Graystripe at Sunningrocks just a moon later and began kitting right then and there. Right from the start, even he knew something was wrong with how it was going and immediately sent for the medicine cat. In the end, they had managed to save the kits, but Silverstream was not as lucky. Dying from loss of blood, she managed to give her last good-bye, 'I love you', and asked him to take care of the kits...then she was gone.
Graystripe was more than depressed, but on finding out the two kits are still alive he finds a reason to be a little bit more happy. Silverstream is buried by the river, just like Graystripe thought she would want, and then took the kits into Riverclan, leaving everything he had ever known to be with the last remnants of his dear mate.
Kit-Hood - Though it was entirely visible that Graystripe was heart-broken, he gained comfort in watching Featherkit and Stormkit grow and thrive in Riverclan. They were healthy, strong kits, cared for by the Riverclan queen Mosspelt and grew up hearing about their mother who had given their life for their birth. And also about how their father was Thunderclan. Suprisingly, that didn't deter them and Featherkit could tell that Graystripe was as loyal to Riverclan as he was to his birth clan.
That was proven when Graystripe fought against his own previous clan-mates at the battle for Tallpines. Featherkit and her brother got along extremely well, tussling under the nose of their grandfather Crookedstar and always almost doing what they were told. They had plenty of fun playing with Mistyfoot's kits and loved hearing about their mother from her own best friend. It made Featherkit swell with pride to know she looked a lot like her mother, even if it seemed to cause Graystripe and Crookedstar a degree of emotional pain.
It was their turn to be hurt when Crookedstar was taken by green-cough, Leopardpelt taking his place. They missed their mis-shapen family member but soon learned to honor him with their memory rather than sulk about it. He was in Starclan, after all, and he could tell Silverstream all about Featherkit and Stormkit.
Apprentice-ship - At first, Featherpaw was apprenticed to Mistyfoot(who was so relieved to be out of the nursery) and was trained as a warrior. She was a fair enough apprentice and put all of her energies into learning to catch fish, use the new Tallpines territory, and swim powerfully in the deepest waters.
She was probably well into her second moon of training when she saw a cat die before her right in the camp. Leafbare had been taking it's toll on all the clans, but now with Shadowclan feasting off their territory, Riverclan was growing skinny and they could do little else but watch as an elder died from starvation and illness. Though Featherpaw hadn't know the cat that well, it pained her terribly to see a cat die without even a single scratch on their pelt and she trembled at the thought of watching cats being sliced open in battle. Could she bring herself to do that, when the time came? She answered to herself silently, no.
That's how she ended up asking for a change in apprenticeship, to go from becoming a fierce warrior to a peaceable medicine cat. Though it hasn't been a moon since she was under Mudfur's guidance, she enjoys her new tasks greatly and knows she's working towards something she can do full-heartedly and help the clan as best as she can.
Since this she-cat has not continued down the path originally set out for her, how will her destiny change? What will fate decide for her now that she has chosen a different walk of life? Only time will tell...[/div]

RP SAMPLE
"Riverclan, ATTACK!!!"
[/b][/i]The threatening squeak of 'Leopardstar's' battle cry was obediently followed by a swath of 'warriors' rushing at the attacker, a pretty silver tabby. Instantly, she was over-taken by the flood and buried beneath balls of fluff and tiny claws coming from the nursery, much to the dismay of Mistyfoot and the other queens. "Argh, you stinky Riverclanners!" Featherpaw growled playfully through a mouth full of marigold, keeping the herbs in her jaws as she flopped onto her side. She had been on her way back to the medicine cat's den when the group of fresh kits decided to include her in their game of 'Riverclan versus Thunderclan'. The she-cat could have easily side-stepped the bunch but it wasn't that often she played with the kits so she decided to amuse them.
"If you think your so stinky, you should smell yourself!"[/color] Reedkit countered as he lept up onto Featherpaw's shoulders, barely able to get his claws through her fur. "Yeah!"[/i][/color] Agreed Pikekit and Perchkit, leaping over the silver tabby's side in an effort to subdue her but they rolled over in a fit of giggles, which the apprentice soon joined in.
"Quiet! This is no time for games!"[/b] Primrosekit squeaked again, bounding up to the overtaken 'Thunderclan' cat and looking down at her with narrowed eyes. "But this is a game, isn't it?" All the kit's hushed Reedkit harshly but after a moment of silence, the entire bundle was trying not to laugh their paws off.
In this moment of weakness, Featherpaw quickly got to her paws and gently shook off the kits, making a hasty retreat to the opening of the medicine cat's den. There would be more time for games, but she needed to deliver of these petals before she - or the kits - crushed them. "Hey, she got away!" "We have to get her back, before she warns Thunderclan!"[/b][/i]
"That will be enough, kits! Come inside for your nap, now."
Featherpaw glanced back to see the kits getting called back into the nursery, a unanimous 'BUT MISTYFOOT' coming from them in protest. A stern gaze from Mistyfoot told the group there was no more attacking the 'Thunderclan warrior' and they all shuffled inside the den. Though the queen mouthed a 'Sorry', Featherpaw smiled through the flower and disappeared inside her own place. She never minded playing with the kits, but there was things she needed to do first, priorities, you know.
"Mudfur? I have the marigold for you." She announced, placing the flower down at her paws once she was inside the cave. "Sorry it took so long. I was delayed by a patrol of Riverclan warriors."
"Ha, they are a nuisance aren't they? No trouble caused, Featherpaw, just bring it over and I'll show you how to make the poultice again."[/i]
Her eyes lit in eagerness and she immediately trotted over to her mentor's figure with the herb in tow. Another day, another lesson to be learned.
