Aspenpaw is a wispy cat. She’s short but lean, clearly built for speed and agility. From her looks it’s obvious that the she-cat lacks in strength, and it’s questionable if she’ll be able to gain that as she progresses as an apprentice.
Aspenpaw’s pelt is short, emphasizing her slightly bony frame. A white base coat is dominated by splashes of ginger that stretch from her face and shoulders to her tail-tip, leaving her chest and belly untouched. Darker tabby stripes mark her face, but fade and disappear entirely at her shoulders. Her head is narrow, topped with pointed ears and accented by a small pink nose. Long white whiskers protrude from her muzzle. Aspenpaw's eyes are the same color as her fur: a warm amber color.
The apprentice walks cautiously, placing one paw in front of the other as if constantly treading on thin ice. She often stares at the ground just ahead of her with her head slightly lowered as she walks. This position makes her seem distant, but not uninviting.
PERSONALITY
Aspenpaw is very much a ‘go with the flow’ kind of cat. She accepts problems and difficulties as they come and either solves them or, should that fail, simply puts up with it. It is difficult to annoy her, let alone make her angry, though it is possible. Her calm and laid back nature makes it easy for her to get along with many different kinds of cats personality-wise.
Because of this, Aspenpaw is not a very forceful cat. She finds it difficult to object to, well, anything. This makes her easy to manipulate: she may quietly protest an order, but add any pressure at all and her will collapses. Aspenpaw recognizes this and scolds herself, but to little avail so far. This aspect has also shown in her training. Aspenpaw excels at tracking and is a fairly good hunter, but her fighting and sparring ability falls short.
She's very soft spoken; her words are never harsh nor sarcastic. But don't confuse her quiet voice with shyness. Aspenpaw is content to talk to any one of her clan mates and start conversations with them on her own. She's quite friendly and happy to make anyone's acquaintance.
Aspenpaw is highly intelligent, a trait she inherited from her mother. She's a great problem solver and, despite her lacking ability in sparring, a strategist. A small source of her pride, Aspenpaw likes to apply her intelligence whenever she can, especially when it comes to hunting and tracking.
This apprentice's emotions read like an open book. It's nearly impossible for her to hide what she's feeling, whether it's sweet joy or bitter disappointment. Aspenpaw isn't fond of this; not that she wants to lie, but she also doesn't want every other cat to know exactly what she's thinking. The she-cat is easily influenced by other's emotions as well, again another trait that she doesn't appreciate.
Another trait that Aspenpaw unwittingly acquired from her mother is her somewhat overprotective nature. The small cat has many friends, but only a pawful of good friends. But she'd do anything for those few good friends, even if it means stepping out of her comfort zone for a bit. Just say the word, and she's there.
When she's not training or talking with her friends, Aspenpaw is probably off to the side of camp, staring at the trees, lost in thought. While her daydreams are pretty creative- for instance, what if foxes lived in clans like cats?- they can be really distracting as well. Another cat may have to prod her to get her attention and remind her what she's supposed to be doing.

HISTORY
Aspenkit was born on a cool, fresh morning; the kind of morning that made kits want to roll around and pounce on leaves and beetles. The white and ginger she-cat was born first, cleaned off and had started mewing helplessly by the time her identical brother was born. But the tom couldn't breathe, and no amount of licking and rubbing from the medicine cat or the mother helped. Just as quickly as he was born, the kit passed away. But the queen didn't want to send her only tom off to StarClan without a name, and so she whispered one: Emberkit, for his bright red patches of fur.
Fawnheart, the queen, was upset at the loss of her kit. But she still had Aspenkit, and so she focused all of her attention on the tiny she-cat. The two could not be separated; not unusual for queens with young kits, but even at four and five moons old Fawnheart refused to let Aspenkit out of her sight. She would let the kit just outside of the nursery for a little while, watching as she played with the others, before sweeping her back inside with a fluffy white tail. Sandfur, Fawnheart's mate, asked her to stop being so overbearing, but Fawnheart refused. But on the fateful day when Aspenkit turned six moons old, Fawnheart reluctantly let her little kit become an apprentice.
Proud of her new name, Aspenpaw began eagerly training with her mentor. She's learned to love hunting and has a distinct distaste for sparring, though the apprentice rarely complains out loud.
