[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=valign,top] 56 MOONS MALE SHADOWCLAN MEDICINE CAT | [atrb=style, width: 296px; padding: 5px; background-color: e3e3e3; border-top: 4px solid #000000;] GENERAL INFORMATION NAME, Runningnose BRIEF DESCRIPTION, A small gray and white tom with gray eyes. FAMILY, Lizardstripe - Mother - Deceased Mudclaw - Father - Deceased Deerfoot - Brother - Deceased Tangleburr - Sister - Deceased Brokenstar - Adoptive Brother APPEARANCE Runningnose is a small, lean tom cat. His pelt is a patch work of gray and white fur, though the smoky gray is more prominent. White covers his legs, underbelly, a chest and muzzle while gray saddles his back and most of his tail. His sober, gray eyes match his pelt. PERSONALITY Runningnose is normally calm, serene, and watchful. He is kind, compassionate, cheerful, and has the capability to display a large amount of affection. His is humble and empathetic and has a great degree of patience that takes time to wear thin. He is always trying to see the bright side, to keep hope alive, and keeps the faith no matter what, especially in his ancestors. He tries not to do anyone harm and lives in peace and harmony with all that's around him. Runningnose tries not to take offense, even if the cat is purposely trying to offend him. Being made fun of has made hurt his pride but he appears to remain callous to jeers about his incurable cold. He deals with pain -emotion and physical- quietly and tends to close up in on himself if a lot is going on around him. At times he can be quite frank. He tries to avoid conflicts but he will argue for a right cause and in the right way. Runningnose tries to never portray his negative emotions, feeling that everyone should be treated kindly and have more joy in his life than he is experiencing under Brokenstar . He finds that there is no better way to help other cats than to use his ever growing knowledge of herbs He lives a life of self-sacrifice and vows to never let his hatred and anger consume him, instead trying his utmost to help others any way he can. HISTORY Kit-hood: Runningkit was born into a little of three by his mother, Lizardstripe, and his father, Mudclaw along side his biological sister Tanglekit and brother Deerkit. He never new that Brokenkit wasn't really his brother but at that time he could honestly care less. What kit thinks about such things anyway? So the four kits were reared under the care of their aggressive, sarcastic, temper-mental and and unloving mother. Tanglekit and Deerkit seem to adopt Lizardstripe's personality traits. They all noticed that Brokenkit had a funny smell and crooked tail and began to make fun of him. It only got worse when they found out no one knew who his mother was, though Raggedstar made it known he was the father. Runningkit felt bad for Brokenkit because Lizardstripe always was calling him an unwanted kit and they couldn't play with him but that didn't stop him from joining in with his siblings in jeering at him(even though he let them handle most of the name calling). Once while Lizardstripe was out sharing tongues with Nettlespot and Ashheart, the trio ganged up on Brokenkit and began to taunt him for not knowing who his real mother is, saying that she may have been a kitty-pet or even a badger. Brokenkit became obviously upset and lashed out at Tanglekit and Deerkit but that didn't stop them, seeing as they proceeded to call him 'badger-stinky' over and over until Yellowfang finally intervened. Scolding them with her sharp tongue, Runningkit became immediately remorseful and hung his head in shame while his siblings stared up at her with defiance while took Brokenkit away. That intervention did little for Brokenkit, though, because Tanglekit and Deerkit continued on with the teasing. Runningkit never stopped them but he never again did join in against Brokenkit. In fact, he tried to be nice as often as he could without his mother or siblings around. Early on he contracted a cold and he would find later in life that he'd never get rid of his running nose. Not long after the initial incident, Runningkit sneaks up on Yellowfang who was showing a bored Brokenkit different herbs and their uses. The kit was very intrigued and curious about the way the plants were used for injuries and drunk in the information until the grumpy medicine cat spotted him and asked him if he wanted to learn. Sure he did! But he was still feeling ashamed about ganging up on Brokenkit, instead giving a big sniff and rushing back to the nursery in panic. Still, he would continue to 'secretly' watch Yellowfang at work and his drive to be a warrior melted away. Apprentice-ship: By the time Runningkit was ready to be apprenticed -along with his brothers and sister- , Yellowfang approached him and asked him if he wanted to follow the path of a medicine cat. No longer able to resist the growing urge to work with herbs, Runningkit agreed whole-heartedly. Runningkit becomes Runningpaw the medicine cat apprentice while Tanglepaw, Deerpaw and Brokenpaw are assigned to Nightpelt, a sickly cat,, Wolfstep and Cloudpelt. Runningpaw couldn't help but feel bad for Brokenpaw getting dealt the lower hand in life. During his apprentice-ship, Runningpaw learned well the ways of herbs and grew to love and listen to Yellowfang even if she had a tendency to lash out, especially more so after Lizardstripe was taken my green-cough. Not that he didn't mourn the queen, he was just happy not to have her criticizing Brokenpaw anymore. After they were out of the nursery, she didn't seem to accept them as her kits anymore so Runningpaw did the same to her. Not matter how hard he tried, he couldn't cure his cold and he was often made fun of because of this, though he tried to shrug it off. At the medicine cat meetings, Runningpaw met Mudpaw, a former warrior, and found out about his loss of mate and battle with Adderfang. Curiosity and a degree of pity moved Runningpaw to approach and accept the Riverclan cat and it wasn't long before he considered him a friend. The gray and white tom noticed that Brokenpaw payed little attention to Nightpelt and it worried him that his foster brother would be pressuring the sick cat to teach him battle moves. Raggedstar was eager to teach his son more and more. When Tanglepaw came into the medicine cat's den littered with fresh cuts, Yellowfang and Runningpaw were equally shocked and appalled when she said they came from training with Brokenpaw. She seemed callous to the pain and was eager to get back to watch their foster brother beat up Deerpaw. Whenever Brokenpaw went to a gathering, cats said he battled other clans apprentices, thus breaking the sacred truce. Runningpaw's worries for Brokenpaw grew until it was a heavy stone weighing in his stomach. Something bad was on the horizon and it was coming fast. Medicine Cat Life: After his time training, Yellowfang tells him he is ready to receive his full name. Runningpaw couldn't have been more excited, scared, and amazed at the same time when he visited the Moonstone and met his ancestors for the first time. Seeing the starry cats and being welcomed by ancient Shadowclan leaders, warriors, even medicine cats alike reaffirmed his conviction to travel the path he had taken with Yellowfang. Sagewhisker, the medicine cat before Yellowfang, delivered a disturbing warning that Shadowclan was going to be driven into a deep darkness where no light would shine through. After sharing tongues with his ancestors, Runningpaw was renamed Runningnose for his perpetual cold. To a degree he loathes his name because finds it as a hidden joke from his mentor, who exclaimed that she was surprised he was promoted since he couldn't even cure his own cold. Still, the two cats remained close friends and that friendship would be tested. His siblings also received their warrior names: Tangleburr, Deerfoot, and Brokentail. In a wild turn of events, Raggedstar is found dead by Brokentail, seemingly killed by an enemy. Though Runningnose doubts this, he and the rest of the clan doesn't hesitate to accept his foster brother as the new leader of Shadowclan. But when he finally receives his nine lives, most regret their decision. Much to Shadowclan's horrow, Brokenstar announces that kit's will be appointed to apprentices at 3 moons and sent off as warriors at 5 moons. Of course, the kits were ecstatic but Runningnose was sickened to see queens and kits torn away from eachother and the little fur balls being trained harshly while still having their kitten fluff. It was against the warrior code what Brokenstar was doing but Runningnose had little say in the matter. No matter how many times he warned his brother that Starclan would be angered, the new leader disregarded him. Sadly, Tangleburr and Deerfoot were killed in battles with Windclan and Thunderclan. Runningnose and Yellowfang watched helplessly as kits were sent off to battle and Brokenstar's greed led him to drive out Windclan and attacks Thunderclan, later declaring war on them. He was further stricken when Yellowfang was falsely accused of murdering two kits and driven from the clan. Accepting his duty as a full medicine cat, he cannot help but feel pity for the kits and apprentices that come in with wounds delivered by rival warriors. While his mentor endures her exile, he prays to Starclan she is well and is still trying hard to prove her innocence. OTHER INFORMATON nuthin RP SAMPLE "Junipers, burdock, marigold..." Inside the medicine cat's den, a gray and white tom hunched over what meger store of herbs was left for Shadowclan. Pushing aside golden petals and pieces of root, his amber eyes scanning over the various plants. A deep sigh passed by his lips when he finally became aware that they were lacking vital medicinal supplies. "Great...no catmint, no comfrey, no feverfew..." He sniffed, putting the herbs back to their sorted places before standing, preparing to leave for the camp outside. "Starclan help us." Turning and walking out of the only place he considered safe, Runningnose let his paws carry him to the rockmass that made up the warriors den. Though he doubted they would be able to find any this deep into leaf-bare, the medicine cat needed to send out a few cats with him to try and find herbs. Without them, wounds would fester and infection would set in which could lead to dire circumstances. Maybe if he didn't have to keep treating the battle-torn kits that Brokenstar considered warriors his collection wouldn't have gotten to the point of non-existence. Runningnose's heart was dragged to his paws when he found not a single soul in the dark den. Sudden rememberance caused his expression to twist into disgust. Oh yes, he had forgotten. Brokenstar ordered for extra training sessions with the apprentices. Any cat that wasn't involved in battle training was expected to be hunting for the clan or guarding the tunnel entrance, which left his medicine cat and brother on his own to try and search for the herbs that were bitten by the frost or hidden beneath the dead undergrowth. Well, if that was what Brokenstar wanted of Runningnose, he had no choice but to comply. Runningnose swore the only thing keeping him sane was the hope of making it through this dark time in Shadowclan and keeping as many kits-warriors alive and well. Bottling his anger inside, the gray and white tom cat made for the thorn tunnel, giving a nod to the warrior guard, a previous rouge. He barely got his whiskers under the entrance way when the dark tom stepped infront of him, blocking his way. Shocked, Runningnose took a few steps backward and flattened his ears against his head. "What is your business leaving the camp?" The tom demanded, standing above the medicine cat as if he were the pick of the litter. "Since no one else seems to be available to assist in gathering herbs, I'm going out to do so on my own." Runningwhisker said flatly, feeling his fur begin to bristle in defense. The dark cat mewed with a smirk, "Every cat needs to be accompanyed by another when leaving the camp. Brokenstar's orders." |
"Well when Brokenstar finally has the sense to leave a cat to come with me, let me know. If your so concerned with it, then why don't you come?" The tom seemed hesitant, his eyes now looking away from the small cat before him. No reply came. Runningnose had put the cat in a bad spot and he felt a twinge of pity, but that didn't deterr his frustration. "Right. If Brokenstar really has a problem with his medicine cat doing his job, he can come speak to me himself." With that, Runningnose shoved past the guard and quickly entered the free air of the Shadowclan territory.
Truth was, the tom was felt like he was shaking in his fur. His fear of his foster brother was almost as great as his anger towards him. Everyday, Runningnose feared for his own life, he walked on egg-shells to not upset the cats closest to the leader. If that so happened, he would end up with a fate where he could only watch as the clan became consumed with greed and blood-lust. With all his might, he wished he had Yellowfang here to speak with, she was the only cat he was really close with and could openly vent about the troubles and horrors in their own clan. But she wasn't there anymore...he didn't know where she was or even if she was alive.
Starclan protect her...let her be safe...[/div]
