BRIEF DESCRIPTION, A lean white tom with various patches of black fur and gray eyes.
FAMILY,Nettletail(Deceased) - Mother
Frogleap(Deceased) - Father
Icepaw(Deceased) - Brother
Meadow(unknown) - Sister[/div]
APPEARANCE
Patchfur is a fairly large tom, but isn't overweight or excessively large. He's packed on a lot of muscle from exercises and swimming. That said, he does have a height advantage so he can see over most cats heads. His pelt appears to be a series of white and black when in actuality it is mostly white fur decorated with bold splotches of black fur. He has a partial mask over his smoky gray eyes that makes him look like he's wearing a masquerade mask and a large spot covers his black nose. Patchfur's tail is the only part of him that is a solid coloring, black.
PERSONALITY
Loyal- Patchfur is completely loyal to Riverclan, the code, and above all his leader. There isn't anything he wouldn't do for Riverclan, unless it requires unnecessary loss of life. He puts a lot of emphasis on listening to the leader even if what the leader says/does something not in the code, believing that it is meant as guidelines and not strict laws. To his friend Cedarclaw and clan-mates, he would give them anything and do anything to ensure their safety.
Protective- Patchfur is EXTREMELY protective of his clan-mates. If someone verbally insults one of his own, he will shoot back a remark as venomous as a viper. If a cat physically attacks a Riverclanner or a friend, he will throw himself at them and leave them looking for a new pelt...and ears. He isn't normally violent but if you mess with his 'family', he will not hesitate to defend them like a big brother does his siblings. He's also very protective over his own reputation; Accuse him of doing something he didn't or being something he's not, you'll be in for an ear-full.
Kindhearted- This tom can be quite a softie. Patchfur cares an awful lot about others so don't be surprised when he offers to clean up the elder's den, assist the medicine cat, or train an apprentice for a sick mentor(though he isn't a big fan of apprentices). Ask and you will receive, Patchfur is generous to the point he'd sacrifice his own happiness for another cat's.
Determined- If Patchfur's one thing, it's determined. Determined to leave his past behind, to push away Shadowclan, to move forward to a brighter future. Everyday he pushes himself to be better and to make his family and mate in Starclan proud of him.
Once he's set his mind to do something, nothing can stop him from pursing that objective or standing behind his resolve. He will not change his mind or decision, he will not allow his goals to be tainted by outside influences.
Humorous- This tom is one of the funniest cats around. He had a tendency not to take some things seriously and cracks subtle jokes all the time, even about his own clan. If a cats down, he'll very likely humiliate himself just to make them laugh. If you need a pick-me-up, Patchfur is the cat to see.
Anxious/Worrier- Patchfur has a terrible tendency to be easily worried about what other cats think of him or of what's in store in the future, to the point he can actually become sick. Patchfur also claims to have a 'gut-feeling' about certain things that never fails him, from cats to a place to hunt. If he was walking down a path and the 'gut-feeling' hit him, then he would immediately change course and beg whoever was with him to do the same. He is always thinking about every bad situation that could happen.
He never had this trait as bad as he does now, most likely it had developed more after Poplarleaf died.

HISTORY
Kit-hood -- Patchkit was born to a litter of four, one she-cat and two toms, one of which turned out to be dreadfully annoying and infuriating. They were loving cared for by their Riverclan parents Nettletail and Frogleap, whom were already senior warriors but decided to have kits before they reached the elders den. They named Patchkit for his mix-matched black and white pelt, his brother Icekit for his white fur and blue eyes, and Meadowkit for her vivid green eyes.
Though everyone was happy to have kits around, Patchkit's brother managed to drive their family and the entire clan mad, particularly Meadowkit, whom Icekit seemed to enjoy picking on. Patchkit never joined in on Icekit's taunts and even tried to get him to stop by tackling him but his brother seemed determined to get to Meadowkit. Other than dealing with Icekit's trouble-making behavior, nothing else influential happened up until they were apprenticed.
Apprenticeship: After being given their apprentice names, the trio went to take on the world as they trained in the ways of Riverclan warrior-hood. You would think that Icepaw would have outgrown his mischievous ways and learned to leave Meadowpaw alone. But no, you'd be wrong.
For the next couple moons Patchpaw could only watch as Icepaw got a group of his friends and drove Meadowpaw deeper into herself, her insecurity and shame turning into frustration and spite, chilling her once warm and soft heart. The day Thunderclan took Sunningrocks put a terrible strain on Meadowpaw, seeing that her mentor Oakheart was killed in the battle. Though everyone was struck by the loss of territory and clan-mate but losing her mentor and the only real friend she had broke her heart. Patchpaw and Nettletail had always saw that she never fit in around her clan-mates and Icepaw didn't make it better. Even that day after her loss, he managed to make things worse. He sneered at Meadowpaw, saying Oakheart died because he wasn't strong enough to go against a stinky Thunderclan cat, that Oakheart was as weak as a tadpole.
Oh that did. Patchpaw and their parents had to agree that Icepaw had been asking for it when Meadowpaw unleashed her bottled up fury and gave her white-pelted brother a few scars to remember her by. But of course, Frogleap, who always seemed to favor Icepaw, and Crookedstar didn't agree with her actions or Icepaw's obscene comments and had them assigned to clean the nursery, Elder's Den, and help Barkface with his herb gathering, which only made her colder and more distant. Meadowpaw was later assigned another mentor and continued to train, though it was begrudgingly.
Getting towards the end of their apprenticeship, Patchpaw stumbled in upon Icepaw and a couple other apprentices ganging up on Meadowpaw. That day Patchpaw finally stood up for his poor, misunderstood sibling and drove back the gang with words hitting hard at his brother. Icepaw apparently was humiliated and decided to attack Patchpaw, but did not come out victorious. After the scuffle, which he wasn't punished for(Frogleap took pride in his sons), Icepaw never dared to abuse Meadowpaw again. Thus her and Patchpaw's sibling relationship finally began to blossom. From then on, things were easier for Patchpaw and Meadowpaw.
And then Riverclan was shaken up more. Three cats no younger than himself came back with a patrol, a warrior named Shallowstripe claiming that they were his kits. Since it was clear their mother wasn't from a clan, Icepaw found someone else to jeer at while Meadowpaw and Patchpaw only watched the trio warily. It was strange to have half-clan cats stay in the nursery when they were clearly too big for it but Patchpaw was mystified. His curiosity was withheld while his pity came forward as he saw Icepaw toy with his new victims, Cedarpaw and Poplarpaw. It wasn't hard for others to tell that the only reason Icepaw spared Smokepaw was because he had taken a liking to her.
Unfortunately, Icepaw drowned in the river while he and his friends had snuck out of the camp and played among the slippery stones. With no one able to come to his aid, the soon to be warrior-named tom had his life cut short due to his disobedience. His entire family was heartbroken and disappointed, knowing if only he had listened he would have lived to become a warrior. Meadowpaw seemed to deal with his death well, seeing as he had already distanced herself from him.
When it came time to become warriors, Cedarpaw had decided clan-life wasn't for him but his two sisters took full clan names just as Patchpaw and his siblings did. Meadowpaw became Meadowsplash and Patchpaw became Patchfur.
Warrior-hood: As the moons passed, cats grew, and the trouble between the clans became more and more evident, Meadowsplash and Patchfur stuck to their mother and father. Soon, though, after Brokenstar declared war and times became more and more troublesome, Meadowsplash couldn't handle clan-life any longer. She had always been different and found it difficult to adjust but now it was getting to be too much watching the blood of cats stain the forest. As a result, Meadowsplash revealed to her brother that she was leaving the clans for good to live on her own. He tried his best to reason with her, telling her that he too was fed up with all the fighting and tension but it was worth holding on but she could not be swayed. It was final. Meadowsplash changed her name to just Meadow and left without an official announcement. Nettletail was as shocked as Patchfur was, while Frogleap really could have cared less. Everyone tried to forget their former clan-mate but Patchfur wouldn't...ever. In another border skirmish, Frogleap was injured to the point he was sent to the elder's den with his mate. Both passed later from sickness and old age.
Patchfur managed well as a warrior, even without his only sister, and even found love in an unexpected cat: Poplarleaf. Though she was a distant cat, like his sister, Patchfur worked hard to steal her heart just as she had stolen his. Much to their delight, they found out kits were on the way. The black and white tom was ecstatic and found his love growing for Poplarleaf every day, so happy that she had entered his life and not caring if she was not born Riverclan.
But then more tragedy struck Patchfur's life. Poplarleaf gave birth too early and the two kits died shortly after coming into the world before they could even name them. He could tell she was completely shattered by this and it didn't take long for her health to deteriorate. Nothing the medicine cat did seemed to help make her any better, in fact she only got worse. It was then Shallowstripe came to Patchfur and asked him to accompany him to find Cedar, who had left the clan moons before. Giving his mate what reassurance he could and promising to bring her brother to her, Patchfur took off as fast as he could with Shallowstripe to find the loner.
They found Cedar easily by following his scent trail. Patchfur could barely get the words out, that Cedar's sister and his mate was terribly ill. Cedar immediately followed them back to Riverclan, Patchfur running ahead of them so he could get to see Poplarleaf...but he was too late. By the time they reached the camp, she was gone. Lying in the medicine cat's den, looking like she was sleeping, his dear mate was life-less and cold.
Disbelief and grief shook his body and came into his throat as a mournful yowl. Barkface kept him away from the body as he lost control and tried to go to her. When it came time for her burial ceremony, he and Cedar mourned her, pressing their noses into her fur and taking in the last traces of her scent before death took that from them. It was then he was able to tell her how much her loved her, how he wished he had been there, and finally offering a good-bye with a wish...for her to visit him.
Cedar ended up joining the clan and took the name Cedarclaw and Patchfur grew closer to the tom because of their mutual love for Poplarleaf. Leaning on each other for support as their hearts healed, the two became good friends, Patchfur's only real friend he can rely on.
Though time has went on, a hole will remain in his heart where Poplarleaf used to be but he will never forget her nor stop loving her, looking forward to the day he joins her in Starclan. Even now he also continues to search for his sister, Meadow, and only can hope she is still alive.
