APPEARANCE
OAKSPIRIT is a light brown tabby tom with darker brown stripes. His fur is has rusty tinge to it that seems ochre in the sunlight, which looks quite interesting beneath his dark, chocolate-brown stripes. His fur is also patched with bits of white: not large, prominent patches, but small, fuzzy white sections of fur mark his chest and muzzle. His eyes are a vivid solid green.
PERSONALITY
FAMILY MAN TERRITORIAL ADVENTUROUS CHARISMATIC SHORT-SIGHTED STUBBORN PASSIONATE IMPATIENT WELL-MEANING
FAMILY MAN Oakspirit puts family above everything else: above the Clan, even, although he would never phrase it that way. Perhaps it is because he lost most of his siblings when he was a kit or because he nearly lost Duskfire as a friend during his apprenticeship, but he cannot imagine anything quite so important to him as family. He cherishes his close relationship and would do just about anything to help her or to make her happy. He considers it an honor to be able to take care of his aging parents, and a big aspiration of his is to have kits of his own some day.
TERRITORIAL Oakspirit's parents instilled in him a definite respect for territory. He hates that ShadowClan has the right to hunt on RiverClan's territory, and in his opinion, Crookedstar is the worst leader in RiverClan history for allowing such a breech. (Leopardstar will go down right down there in history with him, if she doesn't chase ShadowClan away soon.) He feels almost the same way about the territory that RiverClan has taken from ThunderClan. He understands the clan's need to hunt in the Tallpines and he will certainly make use of the extra territory, but he would just be happier if ShadowClan would keep their pelts on their own territory so that RiverClan would no longer need the Tallpines and gladly hand it back over to ThunderClan. A cat can dream, can't he?
ADVENTUROUS Oakspirit is a tom who dreams of heroic adventures. Tales he was told as a kit about cats being contacted by StarClan to go on a great quest have stuck with him, and he dreams of nothing more than to live such a romantic, fairytale-ish life. Since no such epic quest has been presented to him yet, Oakspirit makes do by turning everyday life into an adventure. He loves a challenge, whether it be climbing the tallest tree of the forest or boldly entering into a fox den, because it allows him to be a hero of his own kind.
CHARISMATIC Oakspirit has a certain knack for making friends. His charisma is unique, because its not your typical political charisma. No cat in their right mind thinks he is the right tom to lead RiverClan, but he's just... Oakspirit, and it's hard not to like him. It's a mixture of his friendliness, incomplexity, and good nature that allows others to so easily take a liking to him. At any rate, he's not going to be making hoards of enemies anytime soon, if you know what I mean.
SHORT-SIGHTED One his flaws is that Oakspirit is especially short-sighted. It's difficult for him to comprehend the "bigger picture," because he focuses so intently on the here and now. 'One day at a time' is his mottohe is a member of fishaholics anonymous and it can get him into trouble, or at least frustrate his clan. He's not big on planning for the future, and you can forget getting him to comprehend the struggles of another clan. It's doesn't hit close to home (the here and the now), it's beyond his scope.
STUBBORN Perhaps because of this short-sightedness, Oakspirit is incurably stubborn. StarClan help you if he makes up his mind! His decisions are final and, since they're often made without regards to the bigger picture of life, the right combination of circumstances can lead him to disaster. Regardless of impending doom, no cat will ever convince Oakspirit that his opinion, choice, or decision was wrong. He would rather live the consequences of his actions than change his mind and double back.
PASSIONATE He really has a big heart and gives 110% to anything that can win his heart over. His sister, the Clan, that adorable litter of kits that is clearly up to no good... His devotion to cats and things goes beyond loyalty. There really is a fire within him that motivates his actions. This is why he is so excellent in battle. Even though he's not the strongest or most reflexive cat, he really believes in what he fights for. This is a huge benefit for his friends and loved ones, because you bet that will do anything for the cats he cares about.
IMPATIENT I suppose this ties back to the whole 'short-sighted' thing, but Oakspirit is annoyingly impatient. He hates waiting. For anything. If he is forced to wait, he will certainly grumble, and if there is anything that he can think of to possibly speed up the process, he will try it, whether it seems ridiculous or not. He once ate until he was sick because he thought gaining weight would make him look older and convince the clan he was ready to become a warrior. Sometimes, however, this quirk works out in his favor. As an apprentice, he invented a new deep-water diving technique because he was tired of waiting for fish to swim to the surface.
WELL-MEANING Despite his flaws, he really is a good natured tom and he always has the best of intentions. He would never intentionally hurt another cat (outside of battle, of course) and he could never imagine saying cruel or petty things in order to hurt someone else. He genuinely wants the best for all of his clanmates and is always willing to lend a paw if someone asks for his help. This is part of the reason why it is so easy for him to make friends: its obvious to everyone how easygoing and good-spirited he is. There isn't a malicious bone in his body.

HISTORY
Mossnose and Cloudheart met in an unconventional way. Mossnose was Cloudpaw's mentor, but two cats hit it off too well. They were nearly the same age and adored spending time with each other. They were destined to fall in love.
The romance didn't take long to blossom. Shortly after Cloudpaw earned his warrior name, Cloudheart, Mossnose announced that she was having kits. It was a rough pregnancy, though, and things did not end well. Mossnose gave birth to a stillborn, whom she named Softkit, and a weak tom named Halfkit, who did not live through the night. After the traumatizing experience, Mossnose and Cloudheart vowed never to have kits again.
Things, of course, didn't work out as planned. Several seasons later, Mossnose discovered she was again expecting. Although she attempted to hide her condition from Cloudheart, pregnancy is a difficult thing to cover up, and the truth eventually was revealed. Anxious for the health of the kits, Cloudheart insisted that Mossnose move immediately to the nursery to protect the unborn cats.
In the middle of Greenleaf, Mossnose gave birth again, and this time, the delivery went much smoother. She produced four healthy kits: two toms named Mallowkit and Oakkit, and two she-kit named Petalkit and Duskkit. Oakkit, the hero of this little profile, was named in honor of the recently deceased RiverClan deputy, Oakheart.
When the kittens were five moons old and on the verge of apprenticeship, Greencough broke out in the nursery. The strain of sharing prey with ShadowClan had weakened the litter and each of the four caught ill. Petalkit and Mallowkit soon died of the sickness, but Duskkit and Oakkit were able to recover. At the age of seven and a half moons, Oakkit and his sister were finally strong enough to be named apprentices.
Duskpaw and Oakpaw were close as siblings and they shared a good friend named Frogpaw. However, not long into their apprenticeship, Frogpaw was killed in a border skirmish. Greatly hurt by the loss of her friend, Duskpaw began to push everyone away, including Oakpaw.
The separation between the two siblings stung Oakpaw, but it did not last long. Oakpaw soon found himself in a real battle: a battle against ThunderClan and the Sunningrocks, and his life was suddenly in danger. He was almost killed in the battle, and the reality of nearly losing her brother convinced Duskpaw that perhaps it was worth the risk of loss to keep her connection with her brother.
Oakpaw, as an apprentice, was known for his hi-jinx, both good and bad. When he felt he could wait no longer for his warrior name, he got it into his head that if he could only be bigger and look full-grown, he would be made a warrior. He gorged himself that night on mice he had caught for himself and, in front of the entire apprentice den, puked. On another day, when he was tired of waiting for fish to swim up to the surface, he bounded blusteringly into the deep water. It was a messy dive, but effective, and he got his fish. From then on, the interesting technique was known as the Oakflop Dive.
This past Greenleaf, Duskpaw and Oakpaw were chosen to defend the Tallpines and fought off ThunderClan's attempt to take back the territory. Their performance in battle inspired Crookedstar to name them both as warriors. Duskpaw became Duskfire, and Oakpaw became Oakspirit for the arduous nature with which he defended the Clan.

OTHER INFORMATON
adopted from lo; I'm considering having him fall into controversial love with a ShadowClan warrior. Do I need staff permission for that? Also, if anything with a ShadowClanner is interested... ;D
