APPEARANCE
Nettlestripe is a large tom with a small muzzle and pointed face. His fur is medium in length and gray in color with darker stripes. He has a white “bib” on his front that covers his upper chest, throat, and nose. His two front paws are also white, but the rest him is gray. His eyes are amber with just a touch of leafy green. His tail is shorter than average, and at the very tip of his tail, where it meets his rump, is a small patch of skin where fur no longer grows.
PERSONALITY
TRADITIONAL VOCAL BRASH
TRADITIONAL Nettlestripe is a traditionalist by nature. He has very strict ideas about what a clan should be, and he is quite vocal about this because he speaks his mind about almost everything (see next section). He does not believe in out-of-Clan cats joining the clan and he particularly detests kittypets. He also has a strong distaste for half-Clanners. If a cat isn't purely descended from the clan they belong to, he doesn't trust them. This applies to every clan, not just his own. He is much more likely to trust a WindClan cat with WindClan parents than he is to trust a half-clan cat residing in ThunderClan. As part of his sense of tradition, he holds great stock in Warrior Code. He does not justify any action that falls outside of the Code, even if it seems like “the right thing” to do. These new alliances make him wary, as they do not seem the status quo. He believes strongly in the wisdom of his ancestors, and he is convinced that the system that has worked for the Clans for generations will continue to work for them.
VOCAL Nettlestripe is an open book because he is very vocal about his feelings and opinions. He sometimes seems like a complainer or a loud-mouth because he lacks the ability to know when to shut up. This becomes a problem when dealing with authority, because he has no problem speaking out against a cat in power. He will disagree with the clan leader as easily as he will disagree with an apprentice. But his vocality doesn't only apply to disagreements. Every thought he has is evident, whether in his tone or his actions. He has no trouble voicing affection for other cats or approval for others' deeds. He often thinks out loud, so there is rarely a time when he doesn't have something to say, even if it isn't the most profound or well-thought-out speech.
BRASH He doesn't think before he talks, and he sometimes doesn't even think before he acts. Nettlestripe can be a reactive cat. He tends to act on instinct and his brasher actions are often automatic reactions to bad news or threats. He sometimes does stupid things that get him in trouble, physically or within the clan, because he just reacts rather than thinking things through or waiting for orders. While this side of him is rarely seen in times of peace, the warring forest has made him on edge. He is much more prone to cloudy thinking and swift action in this time of war.
DEPENDABLE Sure, he can be opinionated, suspicious, and impulsive, but at the end of the day, ThunderClan can count on Nettlestripe to do what needs to be done. He is not the best hunter or fighter, nor is he the smartest warrior in the Clan, but he works hard to fulfill his duties to his clanmates. He is always willing to go on patrols or help apprentices with their training. He will even change bedding and pull ticks off the elders' if asked, although he might complain along the way. Even in leafbare, if he leaves on a hunting patrol, he will not return until he has caught something, even if that means wandering the forest all day.

HISTORY
HIS PARENT'S STORY
Birdtail and Stripedclaw were both loyal ThunderClan warriors. They were around the same age and had spent their lives together. They played together in the nursery, training together in the apprentice's den, and finally moved together into the warrior's den, where their nests were fairly close. When Stripedclaw saved Birdtail from being crushed by a falling tree during a storm, their friendship became something stronger. Birdtail was completely infatuated with the tom, and he seemed to return those feelings but was reluctant to show them in public. The two of them would go on patrols alone, and he would claim to have feelings for her, but in the presence of other warriors, Stripedclaw treated her as he always had.
When Birdtail could no longer handle tension, she confronted Stripedclaw and demanded to know the truth: did he really love her, or was he toying with her? Was he embarrassed to be seen with her in public?
"I never thought I could love a cat as much as I love you," Stripedclaw answered, "and I'm not embarrassed of you. I guess I'm embarrassed of myself. I don't think it's appropriate to be affectionate in front of everyone. It distracts every cat from their duties to the Clan. How can the apprentices learn how to hunt if they're too busy gossiping about our love life?"
When Birdtail still didn't seem convinced, Stripedclaw added smoothly, "Besides, I'm worried the clan's attention will put too much pressure on us. You mean so much to me. I don't think I could bear to lose you."
A feeble argument, but the lovesick Birdtail bought it. She and Stripedclaw continued their romance behind the back of the clan for several moons. They were so successful at keeping quiet, that when Birdtail announced she was pregnant, the entire clan was shocked.
Birdtail moved into the nursery and had only been there for a couple of weeks when one of the other queens, Lightflower, gave birth to a litter of tabby kits. Her kits looked so similar to the gray tabby Stripedclaw that Birdtail became distressed. She pressed Lightflower to tell her who the kits' father was, but the queen held out, saying he had asked her to keep their relationship a secret. When Birdtail "guessed" that Stripedclaw was her mate, Lightflower's reaction made it obvious that he was.
Birdtail was distraught and broken-hearted, but she was confined to the nursery and could not confront Stripedclaw. She revealed her woes to the medicine cat, who attempted to help her with her depression, but Birdtail felt herself sinking lower and lower each day.
BIRTH & KITTENHOOD
Finally the kittens were born, and Birdtail's maternal side kicked in. She felt as if her three tiny kits were healing her broken heart faster than any of the medicine cat's tricks, so she named them each after a healing herb: Willowkit, Rushkit, and Nettlekit.
The three kits were obviously not the only kits growing up in the nursery, and Birdtail created tension between them, as she attempted to keep her kits from playing with their half-siblings. They didn't know they were half-siblings, though, until they were much older. Birdtail didn't tell them until they were almost apprentices. By this point, Nettlekit was independent enough to form his own opinions, and he decided that while he wasn't particularly close to his half-siblings, there was no need to hate them or drive them away. After all, they shared blood. And it wasn't their fault Stripedclaw had been so devious. Instead, Nettlekit took his dislike out on his unfaithful father. In a way, Stripedclaw became his first real enemy.
APPRENTICESHIP
Nettlekit and his siblings soon were made into apprentices, and Bluestar gave Nettlepaw Lightflower as his mentor, hoping to close the wounds between Lightflower's family and Birdtail's. Her plan backfired however. While Nettlepaw grew closer to his mentor, he alienated his mother, who could never like the she-cat who had, in her eyes, taken Stripedclaw away from her. The pairing only made the delicate relationships even more twisted.
His apprenticeship with Lightflower didn't last long. A few moons into training, Nettlepaw and Willowpaw went on a hunting patrols with their mentors. Two or three foxes (no cat could tell exactly) attacked them in an attempt to protect fox cubs that were nesting in the territory. Everyone sustained wounds, but Lightflower's and Willowpaw's were the worst. Lightflower did not make it through the night. Willowpaw, at first, seemed to be healing, but after a couple of days, infection set in. By the end of the week, she had joined Lightflower in StarClan.
Nettlepaw was given a new mentor, but the tom was so devoted to his first mentor that he hardly got to know his second. He did attended training sessions and worked hard, but there was no attachment or affection on Nettlepaw's part. It was an empty pairing, which Nettlepaw had to endure several moons of. Finally, he was granted his warrior name and, lacking exceptional fighting skill or outstanding personality, he was given the name Nettlestripe.
WARRIOR LIFE
After only a season or so as a warrior, Nettlestripe fought in ThunderClan's battle to reclaim the Sunningrocks (Newleaf, Y0). He fought well and contributed to his clan's victory, so Bluestar granted him an apprentice: Pebblepaw.
A few moons into Pebblepaw's training, ThunderClan's camp was attacked by ShadowClan. Nettlestripe and Pebblepaw were out in the forest in a training session, so neither participated in the battle, but Birdtail, who was in the camp, fought and was killed in the battle.
Both Pebblepaw and Nettlestripe fought in the four-way battle in Leaf-fall, Year 0, and Pebblepaw earned her warrior name: Pebbleheart. Unfortunately, Bluestar also died in the battle, and this was when things began to get grim in Nettlestripe's eyes.
Nettlestripe, like most ThunderClan cats, trusted Tigerclaw as deputy. He was a little young, maybe, a little too driven, in Nettlestripe's eyes, but he was a good cat, a loyal warrior, and hard worker. While Nettlestripe mourned Bluestar, he was confident that Tigerstar would prove a great leader.
Until the mentioned the idea of TigerClan. The entire idea goes completely against the Warrior Code, and Nettlestripe detests it. He said so then and will say so now, if any cat cares to ask his opinion. This single idea was so disgusting to him that the mention of it drove Nettlestripe to begin mistrusting the leader. What kind of warrior seeks to literally unite two clans? The Warrior Code calls for protecting boundaries, not undoing them. Clanlife requires distinction between the clans. Tigerstar's attempt to undo that distinction angered him and scared him. What would become of his beloved clan?
It didn't help Nettlestripe's opinion of Tigerstar that ThunderClan was now losing territory to RiverClan, and ThunderClan's increasing interactions with the rogues angered the tom even further. The warrior code said the leader's word was law, but what if the leader's word and the warrior code contradicted? Clan cats did not ally with rogues.
It has left Nettlestripe very at odds with ThunderClan's leadership and Tigerstar supporters and really complicated everything for him. He just wants the old ThunderClan back, and he will do anything to get it.

OTHER INFORMATON
He is definitely anti-Tigerstar, but he isn't really pro-any other clan, so he's kind of at odds for what to do right now and is walking a fine line, trying to speak his mind but not to the point that his exiled from the clan.
Also, Pebbleheart, his siblings, and his father will all be put up for adoption.
